Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em

Hilarity Theatre Group, ADC Theatre

”The curtain rose at the ADC Theatre in Cambridge to reveal an impressive set: a grand staircase taking centre stage, an external door stage right, and a kitchen with serving hatch and even an understairs cupboard stage left. The period-accurate décor, complete with gaudy 1970s brown and orange wallpaper, set the scene perfectly for the chaos to come.”
” Technically this must be one of the most challenging shows to put on. The set is a very complicated affair with a working front door, a cupboard, stairs to an upstairs landing, and a kitchen separated from the living room by a flat with a working hatch in it. The kitchen must have a working sink with running water as well as a convincing stove. Top marks to the design and construction team who met these requirements.”
”The curtain rises on a terrific set: a spot-on 70s living room, complete with loud wallpaper, staircase, kitchen, serving hatch, and streamer-festooned doorway.”
